Dr. Matthias Wagner has served as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of BENDURA BANK AG since 2024. Headquartered in Gamprin-Bendern, Principality of Liechtenstein, BENDURA BANK AG is a fully licensed boutique private bank serving international private clients, trustees, family offices, and entrepreneurial families across more than 30 countries.
In his role as Chief Risk Officer, Dr. Wagner is responsible for Compliance, Legal, Tax, Risk Management, and Client Data Management. He plays a central role in safeguarding the bank’s governance framework, regulatory integrity, and long-term resilience.
In addition, he serves as Chief Executive Officer of BENDURA Service GmbH in Vienna.

Dr. Wagner brings extensive experience at the intersection of law, regulation, and financial services, combining deep legal expertise with a comprehensive understanding of banking regulation, risk governance, and organisational development.
- Prior to joining BENDURA BANK AG, he held senior leadership positions within LGT Group.
- Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience at the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein (FMA) and the internationally active law firm Marxer & Partner.
- Since 2024, he has served as Chief Risk Officer of BENDURA BANK AG, overseeing the bank’s risk, governance, and regulatory functions.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Dr. Wagner is actively involved in industry committees of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association and contributes to academia through his teaching activities.
